Titanium Extreme Power
Is this a good computer part lineup?

Intel Core i7940 Processor BX80601940

XFX nForce 750i SLI Extreme Motherboard

Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty PCIe Sound Card

BFG GeForce GTX 260 OC MAXCORE Video Card

Ultra X3 ULT 40311 1000-Watt Power Supply

Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB Hard Drive ST31500341AS

NZXT Zero 2 Craft Series Full Tower Case

Any flaws?

Sounds like a fairly powerful build, but there's a fatal flaw, and a few smaller ones:

1. The motherboard you picked out is for Socket LGA775- The i7 processors go in a 1366 pin socket! You'll have to get an x58 motherboard (one of these- http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010200280%201070545356&name=LGA%201366 ). They're a bit more pricey, but that's what you pay for going with i7. Remember, you'll also need DDR3 RAM to go with that.

2. I'd avoid that Seagate hard drive. Personally, I'd go with a Western Digital Black or Blue, around 1 TB or less. Seagate's larger drives have had some issues lately, and losing data is no fun. I'm running a 640 GB WD Black, and it's fast!

3. The power supply is unnecessarily bulky- A 500 watt would be just fine, but a 600 wouldn't be a bad idea for future upgrades. If you find a good deal on a 700 watt, go for it. Ultra is a respectable name- Do your research before getting a PSU, when one dies, it can take a lot with it.

4. With onboard audio getting better and better, sound cards are less necessary. Although Creative used to be a big name, they ran into some driver issues with Vista, and some of the newer X-Fi cards are crap. If you want something good, Asus has started making some nice sound cards. Personally, I'd try out the onboard sound before making that extra investment.

5. The 200 series nvidia cards are nice. But in my opinion, paying more for factory overclocked cards is silly. The 260 is fast, however, on newer and newer games, you'll notice it beginning to slow down. The extra dough for a 275, or even a 285, wouldn't be a bad choice. When prices drop lower, SLI would also be a good choice.

The case isn't bad, but it is expensive. My box is constantly getting dragged around to LAN parties, and in that process, it gets fairly beat up. I think I paid $40 for it? On the other hand, having a beautiful case can be quite intimidating to others...
